It’s that time of the year again.
The days are shorter and it’s getting colder.
Here is the dilemma that I’m facing: I want to wear the dresses or jeans that I bought over the last two seasons but pumps and heels are not always appropriate footwear for this time of the year.
So, in the interest of recycling my autumn (or dare I even say summer) wardrobe essentials, I have been looking into heeled ankle boots.
It means I can still wear some of my dresses and add a touch of glamour to some of those comfy leggings and jeans and still look put together.
As with all my fashion and style blogs, I have pulled together a list of items that should be seen as ‘investment’ items so as to get a good cost per wear out of them.
In the past, I have opted for high street boots and ALWAYS worn down the heel (and the boot itself) and I ended up replacing them every 2 years or so.
Now I’m looking for higher end ankle boots and thought I’d share with you my shortlist of swoon-worthy footwear.
I have purposely picked ankle boots that are simple so they will complement neutral outfits.
These have a retro feel to them and I would pair these with a mini-skirt or even a long-sleeved dress.
They are made of suede which adds to that Luxe look.
Again, these are also made of Suede and make for more practical footwear given the block heel.
These ankle boots come with a zip fastening which makes them easier to take on and off.
I think Tory Burch have positioned themselves well in the market – they are high end but still affordable with a focus on quality. These ankle boots are no exception.
I particularly like the Gold Hardware on these boots which add a touch of chic-ness (is that even a word?)
Up next are these very glamorous black boots from Michael Kors.
I am loving the crystal detailing on the block heel and that they are black as opposed to a contrasting colour, which would have ruined them.
The boots are made from suede which compliments the crystals nicely to give a sophisticated look.
Moschino Cheap & CHIC BOW Black (£412.80)
Now I know these won’t be for everyone but I am a huge fan.
These leather ankle boots with gold hardware (again!?) and adorned with a bow detail would go great with a casual dress.
These Ankle boots in Satin are particularly appealing because the Satin fabric makes them look sophisticated and chic.
They would be perfect to wear with trousers so that they are peaking through.
That way you get the effect of wearing heels but your feet are still warm.
Because they are simple and chic, the cost-per-wear for this pair of boots would make it worth the investment.
And there you have my shortlist of Black Ankle Boots.
Are there any that you are drooling over right now? Let me know in the comments below.
